Shane (boy)
- It is a boy's name, but it can also be used for a girl. I've always liked it, but especially since I met this really cool guy named Shane. Most Shanes I met were cool. It's also a form of John, Sean, Shaun, Jon, Ian, Janis, Evan, Hana, Sheena...!
- Irish form of the old stand-by John ("God is gracious.")
- I have always loved this name-it's masculine and strong, not overused
- My favorite singer is a fairly new country artist named Shane McAnally. It's also not nearly as common as Ian, Jack, or the other forms of John. I've searched hard for a form of John that I like because my dad's middle name is John and my brothers first name is Shawn. By using Shane, I can honor both of them at the same time.
- Shane Cairo : i like the soft simplicity of Shane. my fiance is Egyptian and Cairo is the birthplace of his father , so if we ever have a son this is a nice incorporation of his herritage.
- Shane Teighlor: I like the way Taylor is spelled and i have always like the name Shane
- Shane William Frances: This is the name I have chosen for my first born son. I have never had a father in my life and the name I have chosen are after the father figures in my life: my Uncle John (Shane is a form of John), my Uncle Bill, and my Uncle Frank.
Shane started out as an anglicization of the Irish name Seán. Seán, in turn, is an Irish version of John.
